We will work with you to help you find a route to becoming more confident about dentist visits, so you can maintain great oral health for years to come.
There’s a reason why our practice was named ‘Denpure’. We don’t like to overcomplicate things for our patients, nor do we ever want to be disingenuous. You can trust us to be transparent with you about any treatment we believe to be in your clinical interests.
Every anxious patient who walks through our doors will be met with nothing but the utmost compassion. Everything will be at your pace, and Dr Makhijani and his team will find the solutions that will eventually give you the confidence to make the commendable decision to access the treatment you need.
Communication
First and foremost, creating an open dialogue with you is key. We will listen to everything you have to say about your nerves, and about any possible past experiences that may have culminated in you feeling nervous today.
In many cases, simply hearing our caring team reassure you can set your mind at ease.
Local Anaesthetic
Local anaesthetic numbs the area being treated, which means only slight pressure will be felt whilst you have your chosen treatment.
Our clinicians are highly skilled injectors who know how to administer the anaesthetic without causing any unpleasant sensation. We will do several checks to make sure we know you are numb, before going ahead to begin your treatment.
IV Sedation
The magic of IV sedation never fails to ‘wow’ patients.
Intravenous ‘IV’ sedation is a conscious mode of sedation that completely removes any feelings of anxiety. Once it takes effect, you will notice some drowsiness, and a sensation of wellbeing, that can be compared to being on gas and air. The sedative is administered intravenously with a very small cannula, and you are monitored by an experienced dentist with specific experience in sedation throughout. IV sedation is completely safe, and as dentists, we’ve seen an extraordinary number of patients leave their nerves behind after just one experience under sedation.
