As a dental practice, we’ve found that patients increasingly understand the importance of addressing the root cause of tooth loss (pardon the pun!) and why this is so much more beneficial than using traditional bridges and dentures.
Dental implants are the only treatment that achieves this; they replace extracted tooth roots, and have a beneficial effect on your dental anatomy in a multitude of ways.
Dental implants go way beyond just giving you a better-looking set of teeth – they can bring about a complete lifestyle change for the better.
Here is why we think they’ve become more popular than ever here at Denpure, especially over the last 2-3 years, and why they will only increase in popularity in 2025.
This advantage was not previously as well known by patients and, incidentally, not as well highlighted by dentists to patients in the past.
Dental implants stop your jawbone from receding, which makes a significant difference to how the aging process affects your face as a whole.
Bone recession occurs in the majority of people as they age. However, when you lose a tooth (and you don’t replace the root), this bone loss accelerates at an alarming rate, putting years on your face in a way you might not have anticipated.
It’s no surprise that in the past, we’ve seen many patients who feel deeply distressed by these (often unexpected) changes when they lose a tooth, and either
How implants help
Implants are replacement tooth roots, and they’re not made from any old metal – they’re made from titanium, known for being the most biocompatible material available for dental, and other medical restorations.
One of our patients’ biggest concerns when they have either been living with missing teeth or eating with a set of ill-fitting dentures or bridges, is how they can improve their chewing and biting function.
Poorly-made dentures and bridges using cheaper materials can cause debilitating pain, and over time (as the jawbone shrinks away) they no longer fit the shape of your mouth or your bite.
How implants help
Implants are surgically implanted into the jawbone under local anaesthetic. Once they are in the jaw, they become fully biocompatible with the bone in your jaw, generally over a period of 3-9 months (depending on lifestyle and the unique healing response of the patient).
Dental implants themselves are not the component that sit in the mouth – that is the role of a dental crown, which fits over the top of the implant.
At Denpure, we use tooth-mimicking materials such as ceramic and porcelain to make biocompatible crowns for our patients.
Once your crown is screwed over the top of your implant, it will emulate a how a natural tooth sits in the mouth.
How implants help
Unlike dentures and bridges, implants are fixed into the jaw; they’re the only tooth replacement solution that achieves this.
Meanwhile, dentures rely on suction (which is generated in conjunction with the gums) to stay in position, and bridges need the support of healthy teeth either side of the gap.
Implants are therefore the most tooth-like solution when it comes to how they sit in the mouth. They won’t look at all like false teeth in the way that a set of dentures sometimes can, especially when bone loss has occurred and the dentures no longer fit.

Implant surgery used to be something patients were apprehensive about, and whilst we still see many anxious patients, there has been a dramatic improvement in patient confidence when it comes to implant surgery.
How implants help
Implant surgery is now a routine procedure for an implant/oral surgeon to perform, and many private dental practices now use technology that:
Denpure is one of a handful of practices in London that offers 3D implant placement with the help of the Nobel Biocare X-Guide system.
This AI machine helps your dentist place an implant with extreme precision, as demonstrated in this video from our Instagram showing the live placement of a dental implant.
We use most advanced technology available on the market so that our patients get the maximum benefits and outstanding results.
Our chosen implant system is Nobel Biocare, the pioneers of implant technology.
Nobel Biocare created the world’s first ever implants, and are one of the most research-based brands offering solutions for single missing teeth, and a whole mouth of missing teeth using the increasingly popular All-on-4 ‘teeth in a day’ protocol.
We would like to take this opportunity to say Happy New Year to all of our patients, and we wish you the healthiest of years in 2025.
Part of maintaining good health in the new year is to check in with your dentist for a check-up, and to address chronic oral health issues, such as the issue of missing teeth.
Contact Denpure for a no-obligation implant consultation, or to book in for your routine check-up.
